I'm a registered Social Worker and have worked with children, young people, and adults for over 25 years. I am honoured to share the journeys my clients invite me to take with them and am amazed at the revelations they make about themselves. I will be honoured to share your journey with you.

My work on the front line in child protection and therapeutic intervention has given me the foundational knowledge of the roots and impact of trauma, its intergenerational capacity, and the need to provide quality early intervention to nurture the important developmental stages of children in a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment. Working with families and the key people in their lives is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Working in the Legal domain, particularly with those incarcerated, facing sentences, facing devastating life consequence, and working with victims, has given me great insight into the power of advocacy and the need to have a voice.  I piloted a project working with high-risk young people at risk of being incarcerated, working with the intersection of their criminal and civil issues leading them to a life in prison.  The complex intensive case coordination, advocacy, diverse skills required to hold this marginalised, isolated group often presenting with complex comorbid disabilities and social disadvantage, was enormous, but inspiring as it was rewarding making a difference in the lives they were denied, and the futures they were yet to fulfil. Reflecting on this role brings light to my soul as I realise how invaluable this work was to my clients.  I made it my mission to ensure courts, community partners and government organisations always heard the voice of the marginalised.  This continues to be a pillar of my work.

During My Therapeutic career pathway, I have learnt so much from the people who have invited me into their lives to share their greatest challenges. My approach continues to evolve as I learn so much from them.

My approach involves connecting brain, mind, and body in the context of trauma, grief and loss, attachment relationships, development, and health, and how it all effects connection with society, life, and beyond. The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) helps regulate the nervous system to a safe state to help people find ease in the disease and process their wounds without re-traumatization, and without retelling their story. My focus is to work together holistically, welcoming all parts of a person, in a safe therapeutic relationship. I approach treatment working with both a bottom up, and top-down approach, working with body and mind in a meaningful way to the client, where these pathways will develop more flexible communication and awareness of their shared collaborative relationship. I incorporate other modalities to heal the wounds burdening a person’s mind and body.

Working with children, young people or adults may look different but all clients require a safe environment and a safe therapeutic relationship. All parts are welcome in this space, including the ones clients are most ashamed of.  This therapeutic relationship explores the hardest challenges without the fear.
